Neil Harris said he did not read the riot act to his Cardiff City players as they staged another comeback to snatch a point at Derby. The Bluebirds badly missed Harry Wilson after the Wales international suffered a groin injury during training on the eve of the game.

Ieuan Evans is one vote away from becoming the new chairman of the Welsh Rugby Union.  At tonight’s remote AGM, the clubs who voted him in as a national representative ahead of departing chairman Gareth Davies, learned that the former Wales record cap and try holder had beaten off John Manders for a seat on the 12-strong main board.  The vote for chairman, which is due to take place at the first meeting of the new board, will determine who becomes the most powerful figure in Welsh rugby in the most challenging of times.  

Glenn Delaney admits it feels like groundhog day after the Scarlets were drawn in the same European pool as Toulon for the fourth season in a row. Jay Fulton and Kasey Palmer have earned the praise of Swansea City head coach Steve Cooper for their roles in lifting the club to second place in the Championship table. Wales defender Lucy Howells will be returning to Celtic Dragons for a third season in the Vitality Netball Superleague. The Pembroke-born player’s debut in 2019 came in the live televised match against Team Bath at Arena Birmingham.

Wales must execute the perfect performance to have any chance of toppling table-topping Norway tonight, according to manager Jayne Ludlow. Table-toppers Newport County plan to stretch their lead at the top of League Two tonight thanks to the elasticity of goalkeeper Nick Townsend. Former Swansea City goalkeeper Michel Vorm has earned plaudits from the club after he announced his retirement. The 37-year-old left Tottenham in July at the end of his contract and has now called time on his playing career. Spurs paid tribute on their official website, writing: “Michel’s daily work with skipper and number one Hugo (Lloris) over the years cannot be underestimated, as well as his influence on our younger goalkeepers, the likes of Alfie Whiteman and Brandon Austin.”

Gerwyn Price will warm up for the World Cup of Darts in November – where he will carry Welsh hopes alongside Johnny Clayton – by competing in the European Championships which start in Germany on Thursday. Not only has Price become the form player in the world right now, but James Dodd argues the Welshman will soon overtake Michael van Gerwen as the official world number one, too. Earlier this month, Gerwyn Price, the one-man darts winning machine from Markham, won his fourth major televised event – the World Grand Prix – after winning the 2018 and 2019 Grand Slam of Darts as well as the World Series of Darts Finals last month. He has now won four of the major titles in the sport inside the past two years.
