The popular YouTuber has suggested three uncapped players should be given their chance – including a shock selection that would raise eyebrows across the game.
Nicholas believes the current state of Welsh rugby - with no tournament wins since 2023 - demands fresh thinking and a willingness to look beyond conventional options.
While youngsters Louie Hennessey and Tom Bowen are viewed as logical long-term prospects, it is his call for Dragons second row Levi Douglas that stands out as the most radical suggestion.
Nicholas reckons Douglas - the 6ft 5in, 19-stones enforcer - could be a genuine wildcard to add some raw meat to Tandy’s menu.
“It’s kind of outside the box a little bit, but if I was naming the squad, I think I would have him in,” says Nicholas of the 30-year-old Douglas.
“People might be like, ‘what are you on about?! But just hear me out.

“Yes, he might be 30, he’s English, but he qualifies for Wales through his grandfather.
“Yes, he’s been around the block a little bit, played in England, played a lot in France, but what he is, is a unit.
“He is a big man, 6 '5", 20 stone, and he throws it around as well, and that's what I really like about him,” says Nicholas.
“He is a factor in defence with big shots, but more importantly from a Welsh point of view, he brings something we miss from the second row - a carrying factor as well.”
Douglas - who joined the Dragons from Biarritz in France last summer, has made 10 appearances for the Dragons this season, but with only five starts.
In fact, he averages only 34 minutes per game. But that’s more than enough for the role that Nichloas envisages Douglas could provide for Wales, as an impact forward to come off the bench late on.
He adds: “People might say, well, he doesn't really even start for the Dragons, he comes off the bench.
“Yes, that's fine. I'm not asking him to start.”
“I think he'd be brilliant to come off the bench.
“He is a real impact player - when there's 20 minutes left in the game and then all of a sudden they've got to tackle this big, giant man coming down their channel, when they're knackered.”
Alongside Douglas, Nicholas also backed Bath centre Hennessey and electric wing Bowen as players worth investing in.
On Hennessey, he says: “It's a point I'm constantly making on this channel, that we're not seeming to produce outside centers at the moment,”
Wing Bowen’s strike rate of seven tries in nine games for Cardiff this season has made him impossible to ignore, according to Nicholas.
“They've got to get him in because he is electric,” he says.
Tandy is due to name his first Six Nations squad this week and could turn to other uncapped players such as Dragons scrum-half Che Hope, Exeter back rower Kane James and Bristol centre James Williams.
