Argentina head coach Felipe Contepomi has unveiled a 32-man squad to take on the British & Irish Lions in Dublin next week.
Seasoned hooker Julián Montoya will captain a youthful group that blends promise with experience.
The Lions are expected to include Welsh duo Tomos Williams and Jac Morgan in their squad - and possibly the starting line-up - for the high-profile clash.
That will add an extra layer of intrigue for Welsh fans, after only two Welsh players were selected for Andy Farrell’s tour party.
Half of Farrell’s squad are still involved in the end stages of their domestic season with their clubs.
At the same time, Contepomi’s selection leans heavily on players based in Super Rugby Americas, as many of Argentina’s overseas regulars remain committed to club duty in France’s Top 14.

Thisl squad reflects the Pumas’ long-term vision, balancing emerging talent with proven international figures.
Montoya, a mainstay of the national team and currently with Leicester Tigers, will take on the captaincy role just days after competing in the English Premiership final.
His leadership will be crucial in guiding a relatively inexperienced squad in what will be a major test of their readiness.
The squad draws heavily from Argentina’s three Super Rugby Americas teams — Dogos XV, Pampas, and Tarucas — with 11 players getting the call.

Tarucas provide forwards such as Luciano Asevedo and Bautista Bernasconi, while Dogos XV contribute names like Agustín Moyano and Faustino Sánchez Valarolo.
Pampas also feature prominently, including players like Santiago Pernas and Justo Piccardo.
Despite its youthful core, the group is anchored by experienced internationals such as Juan Martín González, Pablo Matera, and Joel Sclavi, offering depth and leadership in key positions.
This fixture serves as the curtain-raiser for Argentina’s 2025 international campaign and the first real outing for what has been dubbed the “Young Pumas.”
It offers a valuable opportunity to evaluate new talent ahead of a packed calendar, which includes two Tests against England in July, a fixture against Uruguay, and participation in the Rugby Championship.
