Luke Charteris and Gethin Jenkins are still in contention for the Six Nations title decider against England on Saturday week.

Lock Charteris is recovering from the knee problem which forced him to miss the victory over France.

Prop Jenkins strained a calf muscle during the warm-up against Les Bleus but has also not been rued out of the crunch clash at Twickenham.

Charteris will not feature for Racing 92 this weekend but the France-based lock could be ft to face Eddie Jones’ unbeaten England.

Forwards coach Robin McBryde said: “Luke is missing from the Racing team this weekend but he’s back running so is progressing well.

“We’ll reassess him when he comes back in with us on Sunday or Monday.

“Gethin is progressing well and again we’ll continue to monitor him with the medical team with regards to his progression.”

Veteran forward Jenkins, 35, has seen Scarlets prop Rob Evans getting the starting nod in the Six Nations by coach Warren Gatland so far.

McBryde added: “Gethin’s had quite a bit of trouble with his calves.

“It’s testament to him that he’s lasted as long as he has.

“From Gethin’s point of view it’s frustrating he’s done as much as he has to avoid it happening again but unfortunately it’s reoccurred.

“Because he’s so familiar with the injury he’s more than aware of what he needs to do to get back fit.

“He knows how hard to push himself and I guess he knows the exercises better than the physio.

“It’s frustrating for me and that was evident in his face at the end of the day.”
