Kirby Myhill will become the third Scarlets player to leave the region and join the Cardiff Blues at the end of the season.
The former Wales U20s hooker is joining second row George Earle and fly-half Steve Shingler in swapping red for blue in a bid to earn more regular rugby.
Shingler confirmed his move at the start of last month, when Dai Sport also revealed that Earle was set to follow him down the M4. Now, the Blues – who also made off with all four points from Parc Y Scarlets on Saturday in a 28-22 win that boosted their Pro12 top six hopes – have confirmed that both Earle and Myhill will be at the Arms Park next season.
The moves have all been clinched since current Blues utility back Rhys Patchell opted to switch allegiance to the Scarlets at the end of the campaign as he wants to cement himself as an outside-half, rather than a full-back.
Earle and Myhill join Nick Williams, Matthew Morgan, Rhys Gill, Shingler and Willis Halaholo as confirmed Blues new signings for next season.
Blues head coach Danny Wilson said: “I have worked with by George and Kirby before so I am well aware of their qualities.
“They are both good professionals who will add not only to the squad we are building here but also the environment and culture.
“George is a hard-nosed second row forward who is uncompromising and brings real physicality to any team he plays for.
“He has both Guinness PRO12 and Super Rugby experience and will be a valuable asset to our pack resources.
“Kirby is a talented player of huge potential who I feel can really develop with us. I worked with him at the Scarlets and as part of the Wales Under-20s, when he really impressed alongside the likes of Rob Evans and Samson Lee.
“I am sure he will be keen to take this opportunity and really push on at Cardiff Blues.”
Myhill, who has found his chances limited behind Wales hooker Ken Owens, said: “It has been a privilege to represent the Scarlets, a club and region that I’ve supported from a young age.
“I would like to thank the fans for their continued support and will continue to give my all to the Scarlets as we look to make the play-offs come the end of the season.”
