Wales scrum-half Aled Davies could be on his was from the Ospreys to join English giants Bath.
The West Country club have expressed an interest in signing the 27-year-old who is out of contract at the end of the season and has a big decision to make over his future.
Davies falls short of the 60 caps required to move outside of Wales and remain eligible for national selection, having only won 20 caps.
The former Scarlets star was a regular in Warren Gatland’s Wales squads over the past three years but has always been behind Gareth Davies and Tomos Williams.
And with Rhys Webb returning to the Ospreys from Toulon, Davies could find himself further down the pecking order with both country and region.
The Ospreys are in the midst of a crisis having lost their last 11 fixtures leaving them rock bottom of Conference A in the Guinness PRO14 and their Heineken Champions Cup pool.
Power brokers at the Ospreys are busy shaping their squad for next season and already have Webb, South African Shaun Venter and youngsters Harri Morgan, Matthew Aubrey and Reuben Morgan Williams on their books.
A move to the Gallagher Premiership would prove far more lucrative but Davies would be giving up his international career, at least temporarily.
If Davies were to stay in Wales his earning power would be limited due to the pay banding system in Welsh rugby.
Bath currently have Chris Cook, Will Chudley, Ollie Fox and Max Green as scrum-half options but are attracted to Davies’ sharp service and tactical nous.
