Cardiff Devils must find a way past the Moose at Ice Arena Wales this evening.

Captain Jake Morissette and his Devils play Sheffield Steelers in Cardiff Bay and the visitors are aiming for a third successive Elite League win (Wednesday, 7.30pm).

The Moose – Latvian goalie Ervins Mustukovs – is making a landmark 200th appearance for Steelers when they play Cardiff.

He defied the Devils’ shooters in Sheffield on Sunday, facing 50 shots and conceding only goal goals.

Steelers won 5-2, leaving League leaders Devils needing two wins from their remaining six fixtures to be crowned champions for a second season.

Captain Jake Morissette, top scorer Joey Martin and Devils’ other big forwards will be intent on spoiling Mustukovs’ big evening.

In his 199 Sheffield matches so far the Moose has played an incredible 11,815 minutes, facing 5,994 shots while conceding 514.

That’s a 91.42 saves percentage and a goal against average of 2.61. He has played in 135 games wins for the club, tied two and just 62.

He has kept 23 shutouts and is second only to Jody Lehman (24) in the Steelers records.

Sheffield are looking to build momentum heading into the PredictorBet playoffs, having earned wins against Nottingham and Cardiff in their last two matches.

Devils v Steelers is also a key clash in the chase for Erhardt Conference success. Cardiff finished top last season and are currently second, two points behind Belfast Giants with two games in hand.
