Celtic Dragons head to Ebbw Vale Leisure Centre for their final Vitality Superleague Netball match of the season next Saturday.

The Welsh players ran into a Wasps team in outstanding form and full of confidence.

Shooter Kalifa McCollin was player of the match for Dragons and had a 98 per cent success rate, but Wasps won all four quarters in front of a capacity attendance at the Sport Wales National Centre in Cardiff.

The home team made a number of changes during the match, sending on Lydia Hitchings for Eleanor Roberts at GS and then Fern Davies for Louis Rideout in defence.

Captain Suzy Drane took over from Kyra Jones at centre for the third period, while Clare Jones was sent on a WD.

For the fourth quarter Dragons went with McCollin, Sara Bell, Bethan Dyke, Kyra Jones, Drane, Davies, Megan Powell.

Now Dragons will aim to finish their 2017 season on a winning note when they play Team Northumbria in Ebbw Vale next Saturday (2pm).

Head coach Trish Wilcox and her Dragons players will hope for a big turn-out from Green Army fans to fire up the atmosphere for a match the home team are certainly capable of winning.

Celtic Dragons starting 7: GK Thomas, GD Rideout, WD Drane, C K Jones, WA Dyke, GA McCollin, GS Roberts.Wasps starting 7: GK Huckle, GD Reid, WD Flanagan, C Msomi, WA Greenway, GA Haythornthwaite, GS Dunn.

Period scores (Dragons first: 9-19; 11-14 (20-33); 8-21 (28-54); 7-21 (35-75).
