Welsh team Celtic Flames have earned an exciting victory at the Super Club Netball Championships in New Zealand.

They swept to a win by 17 points against Fijian team Marama Vou in Nelson.

Wales goal-shooter Chelsea Lewis, who plays Superleague netball for Team Bath, was named player of the match.

Flames won all four quarters and go into their final group match in confident mood.

Their next test is against Northern Mystics from New Zealand, who won 92-43 when they played Marama Vou on Sunday.

Mystics shooter Tera-Maria Amani outscored the Fijian side by herself, sinking 62 of her 67 attempts, with the Mystics missing just seven shots.

The starting seven for Celtic Flames against Marama Vou was: GK Temalisi Fakahokotau, GD Lois Rideout, WD Suzy Drane, WA Bethan Dyke, C Kyra Jones, GA Anna Thompson, GS Chelsea Lewis.

Nia Jones, Kelly Morgan, Clare Jones and Eleanor Roberts all went on to play their part in an excellent Flames team performance.

Quarter scores (Flames first): 17-8; 15-13 (32-21); 18-10 (50-31); 18-10 (68-41).

The Super Club event is being played at the 1,662 seat capacity Trafalgar Centre in Nelson, New Zealand and all games are being broadcast live on SKY Sport 4.

Celtic Flames were drawn into Pool B with two of these qualifying ANZ teams, and Marama Vou from Fiji.

The eight teams competing are Southern Steel, Central Pulse, Northern Mystics (all New Zealand), New South Wales Institute of Sport (Australia), Gauteng Jaguars (South Africa), Celtic Flames (Wales), University of Trinidad and Tobago (Trinidad and Tobago) and Marama Vou (Fiji).

Group match results for Flames so far: Celtic Flames  41, Te Wananga o Raukawa Central Pulse 65; Celtic Flames 68, Marama Vou 41.

Final group match, Wednesday, July 5 v SkyCity Mystics (6.40pm local time, 5.40am BST).
