Craig Auden is ready for the heat of competing at the Commonwealth Games – thanks to a special vest!

The Coventry-based shooter has been preparing for the hot and humid conditions with a piece of clothing he picked up on the internet.

The vest has a button which allows him to vary the temperature.

Auden will take part in the 10m Air Pistol on Queensland’s Gold Coast and will use the experience he gained competing at the Commonwealth Shooting Championships at Belmont last November.

“After the test event, I spoke to the coach and we started preparing for the heat,” said Auden, originaly from Bridgend and a graduate of Sheffield Hallam University where he majored in sport technology.

“I bought the vest from Amazon. It’s quite close to your body, so it traps the moisture inside.

“It helps with sweat and stuff like that. It’s just sensational to get used to this heat.

“I have been using that for quite a while. It’s actually kept me warm during the training, too.”
