Wrexham manager Phil Parkinson has hailed his team’s professionalism as they made a significant move into second place in the National League.
The Dragons boss watched six different scorers makes contributions as they thrashed Barnet 6-0 at the Racecourse Ground to move above Halifax and into second place in the table.
The gap between Wrexham and leaders Stockport County – who occupy the one automatic promotion place to the Football League – is now down to just eight points with nine games still to go.

Ollie Palmer, Paul Mullin and Jordan Davies got the ball rolling in the first half – with Ben Tozer, Reece Hall-Johnson and Liam McAlinden added to the scoreline after the break.
“It was a professional display from us tonight and it was important that we backed up the win against Stockport and important that we learnt from the Dover game as well and I felt we did that,” said Parkinson.
“We played some good football but didn’t get carried away, did the right things in the right areas with the ball and we got our rewards in the end.
“I’m so pleased and different goalscorers as well – it was a good night for the squad.”
The victory comes just four days after Wrexham beat Stockport 2-0 to reach the FA Trophy Final and end the league leaders’ 21-match unbeaten run in all competitions.
