With the dust barely settled on the current season, The New Saints and Bangor City have both confirmed new arrivals with their respective European qualifiers just six weeks away.
The early scheduling of the European qualifying rounds which commence at the end of next month typically give WPL clubs little time to recruit new players.
Earlier this week The New Saints announced the signing of former Wrexham and Chester defender Blaine Hudson.
Saints will be hoping Hudson, 24, is able to add experience to their squad having played over 200 games at Conference level and at 6’ 4” will be an aerial threat in both boxes, something which manager Craig Harrison acknowledges his side have perhaps lacked this season.
Saints have also announced the departure of 20-year old James Jones. The Wrexham-born defender made 4 (3) WPL appearance this season prior to being released.
Bangor City have acquired 23-year old midfielder Steven Hewitt from Accrington Stanley.
Hewitt was released from Stanley last month and City will be hoping he can make a similar impact as fellow Accrington midfielder Brayden Shaw did in his loan spell at Nantporth earlier this season.
Hewitt’s arrival is expected to trigger the start of a busy period of activity for the Citizens, who transition into a full-time professional outfit this summer.
An announcement as to who will join Gary Taylor-Fletcher in the club’s new-look management team is believed to be imminent and a decision could be made early next week.
