In a bold and provocative wind-up, Swansea City have aimed a dig into the ribs of Wrexham and their Hollywood owners just weeks before they start competing together in the Championship.
The Swans have brought in American rap legend Snoop Dogg to unveil their 2025-26 home kit—stealing some of the limelight from their Welsh rivals.
The West Wales club dropped their new look with a tongue-in-cheek swipe at the "Deadpool" star and Wrexham co-owner Ryan Reynolds, who earlier in the week launched his club’s kit by posting a photo of himself in the shirt—holding a dog.
Reynolds captioned the image: “Been waiting a year for this kit to make its debut – and it did not disappoint. Available NOW in the Wrexham online store. Link in stories. Dog not included.”
Not to be outdone, Swansea hit back with their own star-studded campaign featuring the West Coast icon, captioning their reveal post:
“Dogg included @SnoopDogg.
Nuthin’ But A Wales Thang, the Jacks are ready. We’re the Pride of Wales.”
In a follow-up video, the 53-year-old rapper—dressed in the Swans’ new strip—greeted fans and dropped a cryptic tease.
“Hail to Wales and to Swansea City. It’s your boy big Snoop Dogg.
Coming to a hood near you. Oh yeah, these are the new jerseys.”
Snoop’s unexpected involvement has raised eyebrows and fueled speculation that the rap mogul could be considering a deeper connection with the club.
While nothing is confirmed, he later quote-posted Swansea’s announcement on X with a telling phrase: “Hereeeeee we go.”
Though best known for his music, Snoop is no stranger to the sporting world.
He carried the Olympic torch in 2024 and served as a correspondent for NBC during the Paris Games.
He has previously shown interest in football investment—flirting with the idea of backing Celtic—and has been spotted in various English kits over the years.
The Swans, who spent seven seasons in the Premier League between 2011 and 2018 and won the League Cup in 2013, now share the Championship stage with Wrexham.

Their rise under Hollywood owners Reynolds and Rob McElhenney has floated on a sea of carefully-crafted publicity, but their return to the second tier marks their highest league status since 1982.
Swansea, however, are eager to remind everyone that the glitz isn't limited to North Wales.
Earlier this year, Real Madrid legend Luka Modrić invested in the club, becoming a minority shareholder and adding a touch of continental class to the Liberty Stadium’s boardroom.
With celebrity influence on both sides and their first league meeting in decades on the horizon, the rivalry between Swansea and Wrexham promises to be about more than just points this season.
