Swansea City are being linked with a move for Dundee’s Finland international midfielder Glen Kamara.
The Swans – who bid to end a three-game losing streak at Brentford on Saturday – reportedly watched Kamara in action for Dundee against Hamilton in midweek.
They are also said to be attending Dundee’s clash against Rangers on Sunday to view Kamara again.
The 23-year-old began his career at Arsenal, although he failed to make any first team appearances before moving out on loan to Southend and Colchester.
At the start of last season, he left Arsenal on a free transfer for Dundee where he has been a first team regular and has also broken into his national team this year.
Dundee’s Scottish rivals Celtic, Hibs and Hearts are also said to be keen on Kamara, who can also operate as a defender.
Swansea manager Graham Potter has previously suggested he might not be very active in the January transfer window and said he anticipated more outgoings than incomers.
Potter has backed his players to respond at Brentford this weekend and end their worst sequence of results since he took over in the summer.
“We are disappointed and rightly so because it has been a tough week. But you have got to be big enough as individuals and as a team to absorb that and say ‘Okay, that’s done, we have to keep on here’,” said Potter who will be without injured winger Daniel James.
“That’s the most important thing to me. We can shout and scream all we want about losing a football match, but you have to deal with that in the right way, stick together and carry on trying to be positive because we need to be.
“Things can change very quickly, we had three wins out of four before this run, and we have to respond because that is what football and life is about.
“But the mood has been good. We try to be consistent, you can’t think you are the best team in the world when you win and think you are the worst team in the world when you lose because neither of those things will be true.
“You have to have some stability and the one thing you can always do is try and get better and that’s what we are trying to do.”
