Rob Page has joined Ryan Giggs’ coaching staff with Wales in a shake-up prompted by the departure of Osian Roberts. Page, who has been managing the Wales U21 squad, has stepped up to fill the void left by Roberts after the long-serving No.2 left to take up a job in Morocco. Page will join Giggs and his assistant, Albert Stuivenberg, as a coach for the senior men’s national side, starting with the matches against Azerbaijan and Belarus next month.

Earlier this month, Roberts – who was also the FAW Trust’s technical director and the brains behind the country’s much-respected coaching badge courses – was appointed the Royal Moroccan Football Federation’s technical director on a five-year deal.

Roberts was initially appointed technical director of the FAW Trust in 2007 before joining Gary Speed’s coaching staff in 2010.

Paul Bodin, will succeed Page as U21s boss, Robert Edwards, the U17s manager, will be promoted to Bodin’s former U19s role, while Richard Williams steps up from U15s coach to the U17s.
