Liam Cullen believes Swansea City have a chance to test their quality when they resume their Championship campaign at home to Leicester City on Saturday.

With the international break over, Cullen has returned from Wales duties to a club keen to pick up the momentum gained by a draw and four successive victories in their last five matches.

Leicester, however, will provide the sternest test possible as the former Premier League club top the table, having won 10 of their 11 matches played.

Michael Duff Insists Swansea City Have Bounced Upwards From Rock Bottom

Cullen – who made his full Wales debut in the 4-0 friendly victory over Gibraltar last week – said: “It is still very early on in the season, there is a lot of football still to be played and I think the aim for us now is to become that consistent team by continuing to show what we have shown over these last four or five games.

“It’s been a real team effort from everyone. It’s not just about the 11 who have started games, but we have had subs coming off the bench, bringing energy and making an impact. You just look at Ollie Cooper in the Plymouth game, everyone is playing their part.

“Hopefully we can keep kicking on, and taking on the league leaders at home is an exciting game to come back to.

“The fans have been brilliant with us and the atmosphere they have created in these last few games has been incredible, and I’m sure they are looking forward to it as much as we are. I think it’s going to be a great atmosphere and it’s an exciting challenge for us.”

Michael Duff Insists Swansea City Are On The Rise After Derby Day Low Point

Following a draw at Queens Park Rangers, Swansea manager Michael Duff’s side have reeled off wins against Sheffield Wednesday, Millwall, Norwich City and Plymouth Argyle.

That spurt has moved them up to 12th in the Championship table, just three points outside the play-off places.

If the Swans were able to keep their winning sequence going against the Foxes, it would be Leicester’s first defeat since September 2, when they lost at home to Hull City.

Jamie Paterson Says Swansea City Pain Has Driven Their Gain

“We have a real platform to build on now, and we are a little bit disappointed that we do not have five wins out of five given how close we were at QPR,” said Duff.

“But after the Cardiff game I said it would tell us everything about our character as a group.

“We had to stick together, it could not be about pointing fingers or blaming anyone else, and no-one did. As a group, the players have got their heads down, they have worked really hard and taken on the detail.

“We showed them a couple of things, and they have taken on the information and, ultimately, it is the players who deserve the credit because they have turned it around on the field.

“This is a a tough and demanding league. So, to keep going as they have is tremendous. There are lots of positives and we want the players to enjoy these moments.”

This Is The Real Swansea City, Insists Liam Cullen
