Swansea City have slashed match day tickets by one third following their relegation to the Sky Bet Championship.
A day after confirming they had reached a deal with Graham Potter and his Swedish club Ostersunds for him to become their new manager, the Swans have confirmed that admission costs are to tumble.
The club say they have already sold 15,000 season tickets for the new campaign following reductions and now individual prices have also been reduced – with adult prices going down from£45 (Category A) and £35 to a standard £30.
Concessions (over 60s and students) are priced the same at £17.50, although the £22.50 Category A price has been removed. Child (U16) prices have reduced from £17.50 to £15.
Swansea hope that by cutting prices for their return to the Championship after seven years in the top flight, they can give Potter the benefit of decent attendance figures.
A club statement said: “With nearly 15,000 season tickets already sold for the forthcoming Championship campaign, the club wants to give the new manager and his squad the best chance of bouncing straight back up to the top flight by packing the Liberty Stadium for all home games.”
There are also further match day reductions for Jack Army members with adults reduced from the standard £30 to £25; concessions down from £17.50 to £15 and children from £15 to £12.50.
Jack Army membership prices will stay the same at £22.50 for non-season ticket holders and £7.50 for season ticket holders.
Englishman Potter – who has been in charge of Ostersund since December 2010 – will complete a move to Wales early next week.
The 43-year-old will bring with him his current Billy Reid and recruitment analyst Kyle Macauley.
Ostersunds chairman Kindberg has said there are no ill feelings towards the man who has transformed Ostersunds FK.
“I understood the challenge and I understood Graham’s ambition,” he said. “A whole region had hoped Potter would stay at OFK. Having talked to Graham almost every day for seven and a half years, I feel a great emptiness now.
“Graham has had a major impact on the development of the club and a decisive factor for the strong platform we are now building. We are so happy and grateful for the huge work Graham has done. He is a wonderful person and I will miss his warmth, humour and conversation a lot.”
Potter, who played for Stoke and West Brom, has been of interest to several English clubs due to his success at Ostersund.
He led them from the fourth to the top tier and Ostersund won the Swedish Cup in 2017.
That saw Ostersund qualify for the Europa League last season, where they reached the last 32 of the competition.
Swansea decided not to take up the option of extending Carlos Carvalhal’s short-term contract after the Portuguese failed to save them from dropping into the Championship.
Paul Clement, Bob Bradley, Francesco Guidolin and Garry Monk have also been in the Swansea hot-seat since 2014
Potter oversaw a 2-1 victory at Arsenal but they bowed out of the competition 4-2 on aggregate.
