Real Madrid star Bale and Barcelona striker Suarez will provide a La Liga flavour to the tournament final, which will be shown live on S4C from 12.15pm, with English commentary available.

After a dream start in Ryan Giggs’ first match in charge, former Wales international and S4C studio analyst, Owain Tudur Jones has warned the new manager he faces a far sterner test in his second at the helm.

Seven-timed capped midfielder, Jones, said: “I don’t think Ryan Giggs could have dreamt of a better first game. It was smiles all round.

“It was a nice way to ease himself into the job, and get the first win and get that monkey off his back.

“It leads us really nicely to Uruguay on Monday, which will be a far tougher task, but it’ll give us a much better idea of what Giggs wants to do with the team tactically, with selection and the formation.

“I thought he might have played two different teams in these two games, but with the likes of Bale and Allen starting and playing an hour against China, I’m expecting to see the same team start against Uruguay.

“As far as the game is concerned, I think it’ll be played at a high tempo. They’re a very good team, who have qualified for the World Cup, and these are the types of games you want to see Wales involved in, and the type of opponents you want to see them pit their wits against.

As for which superstar he would rather have in his team – the former Swansea City and Norwich City man was unequivocal about who he would pick.

“I think Suarez is one of, if not the best striker in the world, along with Aguero and one or two others. Gareth Bale is different, but being a Welshman and looking back at what he’s done for Wales, he’s totally indispensible. I wouldn’t swap him for anybody, not even Suarez. But they are both superstars.

“That said, Suarez will cause our backline a lot of problems, and we’ll have to be at our best to deny him and beat Uruguay.”

Owain Tudur Jones is part of the S4C presentation team for the China Cup. S4C will have exclusive live coverage of the China Cup final, between Wales and Uruguay, at 12.15pm on Monday. English commentary available.
