Alan Sheehan Awaits Green Light - Or Maybe Red - As Swansea City's Resurgence Continues

Swansea City continue to improve under caretaker boss Alan Sheehan, who now expects some big calls to soon be made over his future.

Swansea City’s interim boss Alan Sheehan is set for pivotal discussions next week that could determine his long-term future at the club.

The Irishman, who stepped in following Luke Williams’ departure, has overseen an encouraging turnaround, guiding the Swans to a three-match unbeaten streak.

Victories over Blackburn Rovers and Middlesbrough at home, coupled with a resilient draw at Preston North End, have lifted spirits and eased relegation concerns.
Swansea, currently 15th, sit 12 points clear of the drop zone with ten games left in the campaign.

With an away fixture against Watford on Wednesday and a clash against high-flying Burnley next weekend, Sheehan remains focused on maintaining the team's momentum.

However, once the international break arrives, he will sit down with Swansea's director of football, Richard Montague, to map out the club’s next steps.
"What do we want in the future, what is the timescale, who's coming in, who's coming out to go on that journey?" he asked.

"What players do we see being here for the future, what players that are out of contract are staying? What way do we want to play, how do we want to evolve it?

"There are all these questions, but everyone needs to be on the same page. It can't be loose - one person thinking this, me wanting that, you want this, you want that."

Having already had a successful stint as caretaker last season, where he picked up 11 points from seven matches before Williams' appointment, Sheehan is not rushing to commit to the managerial role permanently.

The 38-year-old insists his priority remains securing results while ensuring the club makes the right decision about its future direction.

He has also acknowledged the support from fans, who chanted his name during the win over Middlesbrough.

"There's no point being a manager and just surviving," he stated.

"You want to be able to do something, you want to go and win because I love winning and I'll do certain things to win.

"There are a lot of conversations to be had and see where we want to get to."

While Sheehan weighs up his next steps, he confirmed that midfielder Myles Peart-Harris is likely to miss the remainder of the season after picking up an injury against Preston.

The Brentford loanee has returned to his parent club for assessment.

"It was a big blow for Myles, he is a lovely lad, he had a really good game against Blackburn and wanted to kick on," Sheehan said.
"So it was really sad to see him go off like that and to see him so upset.

"It could be the end of his season potentially, he could maybe come back for the final few games.

"But he will go back to Brentford to be assessed, and we will see the extent of it, and we wish him all the best.

"He has produced good outcomes in terms of goals and assists, and he has showed he can perform at this level, so I think both clubs have benefited from his time here."
