Elfyn Evans saw his World Rally Championship return begin in dramatic fashion in Monte Carlo on Thursday night. The Dolgellau-born driver was just about to set off on the opening stage when Hyundai’s Hayden Paddon crashed.

Elfyn Evans is ready for another challenging Monte Carlo Rally when he makes his World Championship return today. The Dolgellau-born flier posted the 14th quickest time in Wednesday’s shakedown in his DMACK M-Sport Ford Fiesta RS WRC car.

Elfyn Evans is returning to the FIA World Rally Championship in 2017 – a globe-trotting title race which blasts off high in the Alps behind Monte Carlo later this week. The 28-year-old Welshman from Dolgellau missed out on top class WRC drive last year after two promising and progressive seasons which netted impressive podium finishes in both Argentina and Corsica.

Elfyn Evans has vowed to come back stronger when he return to the World Rally Championship in Monte Carlo this week. The Dolgellau-born flier will drive a DMACK Ford Fiesta RS when the 2017 campaign gets underway on Thursday.
