No Night Terrors For Glamorgan As Day Belongs To Them

Glamorgan will be the happier of the two sides after day one of their day-night Championship clash with Derbyshire at Cardiff, having bowled the visitors out for 288, and ending the day on 5-0 in reply. Derbyshire failed to capitalise on winning the toss as it took Glamorgan just 3.4 overs to get their first wicket with the pink ball on the same strip that had been used by England and South Africa in their T20 clash. Timm van der Gugten trapped Luis Reece leg before wicket as the batsman shouldered arms with his team on 1.

Lions Held In Thriller With Hurricanes As Warren Gatland And Rory Best Keep Powder Dry

Rory Best resisted the opportunity to criticise referee Romain Poite after the British and Irish Lions were held to a 31-31 draw by the Hurricanes in Wellington. Poite sent lock Iain Henderson to the sin bin for a tip-tackle on Jordie Barrett in the final quarter and the home team ran in two tries in his absence. ‘It was obviously touch and go but when you’re being officiated by a quality referee like Romain Poite and he takes his time and goes to the TMO, you’ve got to trust that the guy has got it right,’ Best told Sky Sports.

A Year On From The Night Hal Robson-Kanu Allowed Wales Fans To Leap With Faith And Touch The Stars

Sporting anniversaries are often ten-a-penny, but here’s one worth stopping to reflect on.
