Celtic Dragons have extended their links with Cardiff Met University by using their facilities as their home training base for the new Vitality Netball Super League season. The Dragons played their final home fixture of last season at the National Indoor Athletics Centre at Cyncoed, going down to the Sirens by 59-37. Now they will be able to prepare for the new season under new head coach Tania Hoffman in world-class surroundings.
Challenge Wales has become the largest sailing boat in Wales to join the RYA’s Sailability scheme and offer opportunities for people with a disability. Sailability has helped more than 53,000 young people and adults with disabilities to try sailing and take part regularly, mastering the skills and confidence for a lifetime on the water.
More than 50 young sailors took to the water for the South and West Wales Acord Llangorse OnBoard Regatta. There was a good turnout through the All Afloat scheme, with many travelling from Pembrokeshire for their first major competition, showing the sailing charity launched this summer is already having an impact.

Graham Potter heads back to one of his former clubs on Tuesday night hoping the Stoke City faithful have finally forgiven him for missing a header in the Championship play-off semi-finals 22 years ago. Swansea City manager Potter played more than 50 times over three seasons for Stoke, but left for Southampton two months after Lou Macari’s men lost to Leicester City in the play-offs. “The miss in the semi-final was a rubbish header at Filbert Street. I’m not sure the supporters have forgiven me for that, and rightly so, because I should have scored,” admitted Potter.
Osian Pryce dominated the Historic section of the Escort Rally Special, finishing 55.61 seconds ahead of his nearest rival in his RallyXtreme-prepared Escort Mk2 RS1800. Many of the local Belgian drivers praised Pryce on his incredible performance, saying that such a magnificent result by a visiting driver is virtually unheard of. The one-off event had been organised to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the building of the first Escort in 1968, and had attracted a capacity 140 car entry that were separated into three different sections – the competitive Modern and Historic sections, and the non-competitive Demo section. Based in the town of Couvin, in the Walloon region of southwest Belgium, the event featured one 16 mile stage that was tackled four times.
