Ryan Giggs Insists He’ll Lose No Sleep Over Paul Dummett’s Wales Decision

Ryan Giggs insists he is “not fussed” over Paul Dummett’s decision to make himself unavailable for Wales.The Newcastle defender appears to have called time on his international career after manager Giggs revealed the player had chosen not to be part of the national squad. Anglesey Circuit will host the annual Thundersport GB and the Moto Super Prix of Wales this weekend, with a total of 32 races taking place on August Bank Holiday Sunday and Monday. Thundersport GB, commonly hailed as ‘The Home Of Sportsman Racing’, offers an absolute plethora of magical diversity when it comes to motorcycle racing. Categories include the now famous BTS GP3 Superteens that produced riders like World Superbike racer and former BBC Wales Sports Personality of the Year winner Chaz Davies (not to mention Casey Stoner, Cal Crutchlow, et al), plus the next step up for these youngsters in the blistering pace of the Alto Digital GP2 featuring the Supertwin and Stocktwins, through budget classes such as Dunlop/HMT Racing Thundersport 500 and the now hugely popular Blackbird Corporate Golden Era Steelsport/Supersport, BeMoto Golden Era Superbikes and TW Suspension Tech GP1 Classics. Ashley Williams is facing a fight to save his international career after being dropped from the Wales squad for the first time. The current captain – his side’s inspirational leader at Euro 2016 in France as Wales reached the semi-finals – has been left out by manager Ryan Giggs for the crunch Euro 2020 qualifier against Azerbaijan next month. No new captain has yet been confirmed by Giggs, but the team is expected to be led by Gareth Bale who has worn the armband in the past when Williams was in the squad, but left out of the starting team.

Ryan Giggs Turns To Page After Osian Roberts Departure

Rob Page has joined Ryan Giggs’ coaching staff with Wales in a shake-up prompted by the departure of Osian Roberts. Page, who has been managing the Wales U21 squad, has stepped up to fill the void left by Roberts after the long-serving No.2 left to take up a job in Morocco. Page will join Giggs and his assistant, Albert Stuivenberg, as a coach for the senior men’s national side, starting with the matches against Azerbaijan and Belarus next month.

Cave Admits It Will Be ‘Extremely Tough’ To Win BRC Title

Tom Cave admits that it will be ‘extremely tough’ for him to win the British Rally Championship title, after crashing out of the Ulster Rally. The 27-year old had gone into last weekend’s Ulster Rally tied for the lead of the series with Matt Edwards. And their close battle continued on the bumpy closed roads in Northern Ireland, as just 9.8 seconds separated them after the first loop of stages. An overshoot into a field on SS5 cost Cave and co-driver Dale Bowen precious seconds, but an overall fastest time on SS6 did much to restore some of the deficit. However, the gap between them and Edwards was now 19.3 seconds, which meant that a return to the softer tyres and a consolidation of positions was the order for the final loop.
