Callum Sheedy has opened the door to an approach from Wales as Wayne Pivac considers his options at No.10 against England at Twickenham this weekend. Sheedy played a leading for Bristol on Sunday, guiding them to their first victory at rivals Bath for 14 years. His contribution was timely as well as significant as Pivac considers the injury crisis at outside-half that threatens to deny him of his four first-choice picks in a pivotal position.
Bluebirds manager Neil Harris watched striker Isaac Vassell suffer on his return to playing action at Cardiff International Sports Stadium. Vassell was running onto a Brad Smith pass when he […]

The great London Welsh revival is continuing under Cai Griffiths and the Exiles are now only two wins away from clinching a third promotion in their long fight back to return to their former glories. A thumping 50-7 win over Hackney was their 32nd straight victory at home since they were thrown out of the Championship after going into liquidation under a mountain of debts brought on during a troubled time in the Premiership and a fateful move to the Kassam Stadium, in Oxford. They found themselves relegated nine divisions to Herts/Middlesex 1 three years ago, taking over the lowly position in which their amateur side were playing.
The streets of south Manchester hosted an impromptu St David’s Day celebration on Sunday as Cardiff’s James Hunt led a Welsh clean sweep at the Trafford 10k. The Swansea fighter lost by unanimous decision in a gripping fight as his spirited performance was not enough to claim the title from Martinez on Saturday night. “Obviously I am very, very disappointed, but I can take a lot from this,” said Harris.
Steve Cooper has insisted his Swansea City side will come back stronger after their “gut-wrenching” loss of two precious promotion-chasing points at Blackburn Rovers. Three days after losing to an injury time goal at Fulham, a deflected strike gave Rovers an equaliser in the 95th minute to leave Cooper’s side four points adrift of the play-offs, instead of the two points they would have been had they held out.
Dan Biggar is set to miss the rest of the Six Nations and may struggle to return this season after suffering a knee injury playing for Northampton. The injury was initially described as “not serious” by Saints coach Chris Boyd, but club sources have since admitted that Biggar has sustained significant damage and will be sidelined for “several weeks”. That would put the 30-year-old out of next week’s game against England at Twickenham and the final round of the Six Nations at home to Scotland on March 14.

Brier finished second in the 400m and Brier was third in the 800m after indoor seasons that have been disrupted following the postponement of the World Indoor Championships in China – scheduled for next month – because of the spread of coronavirus.

It was definitely the highlight for us and the happiest I’ve felt about the team pursuit in a long time.
Three games into the Six Nations and Wales have just one victory to show for their efforts. Robin Davey says the bold ambitions of coach Wayne Pivac are being undermined by his own selection calls and a misfiring team. It’s early days, but for new head coach Wayne Pivac to declare Wales are heading in the right direction after successive Six Nations defeats at the hands of Ireland and France is, well . . . let’s’ be charitable and say inadvisable. Some might describe it as plain daft especially as no matter what controversial decisions there may have been by the referee, France were clearly the better side.
