Zoe Backstedt may still be only 20 years old but she has already collected four world titles at age group level, as Gareth James reports.

Zoe Backstedt, from Pontyclun in Mid-Glamorgan, continues to set new landmarks in cycling after another significant victory.

It has proved the breeding ground for champions in the past and now five young Welsh athletes have been picked by Great Britain for the “Youth Olympics”.

She is already one of Welsh sport’s most decorated young stars but Zoe Backstedt, from Pontyclun in Mid-Glamorgan, has now added a senior elite title to her age group victories.
