It was a day of surprises in an eventful fourth round of the JD Welsh Cup, as four clubs from the second-tier Huws Gray Cymru Alliance eliminated Welsh Premier League opponents to progress into the quarter-finals. Upsets were the order of the day at Prestatyn, Guilsfield, Llanfair United and Caernarfon Town whilst current holders The New Saints eased their way into the last eight.

The Welsh Cup returns this weekend with 16 remaining clubs looking to advance into the quarter-final stage. Current holders The New Saints are looking to lift the famous trophy for the fourth year in a row and will be clear favourites to progress in their home tie against Llanelli – the lowest ranked side left in the competition.
