Wales fans have been invited to celebrate the Wales Women's team's big year ahead with a day of rugby, music, and community fun.

Wales' senior women's team will give fans a chance to offer a rousing send off before they head for the Women's World Cup.

The Welsh Rugby Union (WRU) has arranged a special open training session for the team on Tuesday, 12th August 2025, as they gear up for the biggest year in their history.

The announcement comes as Wales prepare for their first Test against Australia in Brisbane on Saturday.

The second Test for Sean Lynn's squad is in Sydney on August 1.

The squad then return to Wales to prepare for the Women's World Cup which they begin with their tournament opener against Scotland in Salford on August 23.

Held at Cardiff Arms Park, the free–to-attend, but ticketed, ‘send-off’ event promises to be a vibrant celebration of women’s rugby and an opportunity for fans to meet their Wales heroes.

Supported by Vodafone, the day will be packed with music, entertainment, food & drink, community activities, and exclusive meet and greets with the players.

Belinda Moore, WRU head of women’s rugby, says: “This is a pivotal year for women’s rugby and a pivotal year for women’s rugby in Wales.

“The energy around this squad is incredible and this open training session is a special moment for the team to connect with the fans who inspire them every day.

“We think seeing is believing.  We want young girls across Wales to see what’s possible and feel they belong in this sport.

“Events like this create memories, but they also create ambition. If even one girl walks away believing she will one day wear the red jersey, then we’ve done something truly special.”

Mark Huckerby, Vodafone head of sponsorship, said: “Vodafone is incredibly proud to stand behind this women’s team.  The growth and excitement surrounding women’s sport is palpable and events like this bring that message home.

“This event is a brilliant way to bring fans and players together in celebration of everything that women’s rugby stands for – determination, unity, and inspiration. We’re excited to help create a day to remember.”
