Wrexham have 11 fixtures left to fire up their Football League promotion dream.
The Reds are unbeaten in 11 Vanarama National League matches, but eight of those have ended in draws including last night’s goalless result at Solihull Moors.
Manager Dean Keates and his team are frustrated after dropping 16 points during their unbeaten run, having earned 17 from a possible 33.
Wrexham, though, are fifth and only one point behind second-placed Sutton United, although leaders Macclesfield Town are six points in front of the Welsh club and have a game in hand.
Next up is a home fixture against third in the table Aldershot Town at the Racecourse on Saturday when a victory would add new spark and energy to Wrexham’s drive for promotion.
Keates made two changes with Paul Rutherford and Akil Wright starting, while Marcus Kelly and Scott Boden missed out.
Almost 650 Reds’ fans followed their team to Solihull – and that made up more than half of the total attendance.
Wrexham worked hard in what was a difficult fixture against a Solihull team battling with spirit and character against relegation.
Solihull have hit form in 2018 and have earned 19 points from their last eight matches to give themselves a real chance of staying in the division.
Sam Wedgbury went close for Wrexham with a shot from just outside the penalty area which flew over, while Adi Yussuf shot wide from a dangerous Moors attack.
Wedgbury possession in midfield and was quick to pick out Quigley on the left. The striker cut inside and only a block by defender Tyrone Williams ended the danger.
Wrexham pressed forward, but could not find the final pass or cross to create the chances they needed.
James Jennings had the chance to deliver, but his cross was too long and flew beyond the far post.
Moors hit a post after 55 minutes when Yussuf’s low effort hit a post before spinning across the face of goal.
Quigley battled for everything in attack, but neither team were able to create good scoring opportunities.
Wrexham sent on Jonathan Franks for Chris Holroyd after 68 minutes, while Jack Mackreth went on for Rutherford 14 minutes from the end, offering a new threat down the right.
The visitors were desperate to earn the win they needed and sent on Marcus Kelly for Quigley, but the match ended goalless.
