New Swansea City goalkeeper Lawrence Vigouroux has revealed the chance to reunite with head coach Luke Williams played a major part in his move from Burnley.
Vigouroux has joined the Swans for an undisclosed fee on a two-year deal and will work under Williams for a second time after the pair were together at Swindon Town.
The 30-year-old has become Williams’ third signing of the summer transfer window following the arrivals of Goncalo Franco and Eom Ji-sung.
“Luke played a massive part in my decision,” said Vigouroux.
“I think when you have that trust from someone that you know already it makes everything a lot easier, and the conversation is a lot easier as well.
“I know exactly what he’s like, I know how he is and how he works. I think it’s really good that we have that relationship.
“It’s very good for me and it’s also good that I can have someone to lean on straight away. It’s very important and I’m really looking forward to working with him this season.”

Swansea had been on the lookout for a new goalkeeper after Carl Rushworth returned to Brighton following his successful loan spell in Wales during the 2023-24 season.
Vigouroux was a consistent starter at Swindo during Swansea head coach Williams’ time in charge of the Robins.
The London-born shot-stopper – who was capped by Chile U20s – joined Burnley from Leyton Orient last summer but did not feature for the Turf Moor side as they were relegated from the Premier League in 2023-24.
At Swansea, Vigouroux will also work under Martyn Margetson, the club’s head of goalkeeping and current England goalkeeping coach.

I spoke to James Trafford at Burnley and he said nothing but good things about him (Margetson) when he was with him before the Euros.
“I’m really looking forward to working with someone of his pedigree, someone that has worked with the types of players that he has.
“I feel like he’s only going to help not just me, but everyone else in the goalkeeping unit improve their game. I’m very happy to have that experience and someone I can work with day to day.
“I cannot wait to get started, I know a couple of the lads already – Joe Allen and Kyle Naughton – and I want to make the most of this opportunity,” said Vigouroux.
“This feels like it has been a long time coming and I have an opportunity now to train with a really good group of lads and a really good quality squad.
“I just want to be as good as I can every single day. Like I say, there is a really good squad here and we have to be aiming as high as we can, we have to be looking forward
“This is a massive club. I know nothing is guaranteed, there are some really good goalkeepers I am going to work with every day.
“I am looking forward to this challenge, it’s not good to be comfortable in football. You have to be worried about who is behind you and who is in front of you.
“That’s very important, I think it brings out the best in everyone.”
