Sheyi Ojo believes Cardiff City are now proving they carry a variety of threats to opposition teams as they continue to climb the Championship table.
Ojo came off the substitutes’ bench to score one of the Bluebirds’ three goals as they won 3-1 at Wigan to continue caretaker manager Mark Hudson’s impressive and unbeaten start in charge.
Goals from Callum Robinson, Ojo and Ryan Wintle ensured Cardiff continued their recent resurgence, meaning Hudson’s side are now up to 10th in the Championship table and just three points off the play-offs.
Ojo’s goal came after he was left out of the starting line-up but he insisted the entire squad is now proving its value after a uncertain start to the campaign.
“Everyone is going to be needed,” said the former Liverpool winger.
“In the last game, Sparky [Mark Harris] came out and scored, and this time it was me coming off the bench to help out.
“Next week it could be someone else, and you’ve got to be ready; whether you’re starting or on the bench you’ve got to be contributing, that’s the aim and so far we’ve been doing that.

“We were a bit unfortunate with the goal that we conceded, and it would’ve been the icing on the cake if we kept a clean sheet, but we’re happy with the result and with back to back wins.
“We need to build off these results and start to get some momentum.”
After Robinson’s opener, Ojo made it 2-0 but Wigan’s Charlie Wyke headed in with seven minutes left before Wintle sealed Cardiff’s victory with a stunning free-kick in added time.
Cardiff interim boss Hudson said: “Let’s not get too carried away just yet.
“We’ve had a really good week, and I told them in midweek what I expected of them straight away, trying to focus their minds.
“And that’s all you can do. You can only put a plan together to make your team feel comfortable coming into a game, and confident they can carry it out.

“I thought we did that, and we also showed we can cope with the loss of key players and not let it affect us too much.
“You’ve got to create the chances to score them, so it’s pleasing to see. It’s a really tough away game, and we posed a threat to them, which is something that we’ve asked for, so long may it continue.
“Sheyi comes on in the first half, which is difficult to do, but that shows that they’re all committed to the cause, and ready to go on whenever they’re needed. He’s shown that he can play in a number of positions, and he should add those goals to his game.
“We’ve got a good squad, and good players. They’ve all got their own individual strengths, and anybody has got to be ready to come on in a game.
“You have to enjoy it. Pressure or not, you represent the club, you’re part of it, and it’s something you have to enjoy.
“Testament to the fans, coming all this way. There are train strikes and the motorways are busy, and they’ve travelled all this way. We went to show them our support at the end of the game.”
