Padraig Amond insists Newport County have not given much thought to Tottenham Hotspur before their FA Cup clash at Rodney Parade – for fear of being a goal down before they start. County’s Irish striker says the likes of Harry Kane and Dele Alli have been far from their minds as they seek to achieve one of the greatest upsets in Welsh FA Cup history. The fourth round tie on Saturday evening may have attracted huge attention on the prospect of Spurs and their wealth of Premier League talent pitching up at one of the most notorious playing surfaces in the Football League, but Amond says the squad have not focussed on the opposition.

Notts County manager Kevin Nolan is aiming to halt Swansea City’s momentum when his League Two club host Carlos Carvalhal’s side in Saturday’s FA Cup tie. The Swans will be looking to continue their positive form under Carvalhal when they travel to County in the fourth round, having only lost once since their new manager was appointed in late December. Rhys Webb has spoken of his devastation at missing the upcoming Six Nations through injury. The Wales scrum-half was withdrawn from the squad on Thursday after tests revealed the seriousness of a knee injury he suffered playing for the Ospreys against Clermont Auvergne. New Team Wales member Aidan Heslop is going to get an early taste of what he can expect when he goes to the Gold Coast for his Commonwealth Games debut in April when he competes in the 2018 British Diving Championships at the Plymouth Life Centre. It might be his home pool, but the 15-year-old will be taking on some of the biggest names in the sport this weekend in what will be a final trial for the English team to for the Gold Coast. Heading the all-star cast will be world champion Tom Daley and three-time Olympian Tania Crouch, with Heslop looking to get among the medals in the 5 and 10 metre platform events. He has already won the 10 metre title at the Scottish championships and last year took the bronze medal at the European Junior Championships.
