Kristoffer Peterson Insists Swans Will Take Flight, Not Fright

Kristoffer Peterson insists Swansea City are not suffering stage fright in front of their own fans – but admits he’s at a loss to explain their declining home form. The Swedish winger was one of the few successes when he came on as substitute in the 1-0 defeat at home to Millwall at the weekend. The 24-year-old carved out the Swans’ best opening of the match with a superb turn and shot, but otherwise there was not much for the home fans to savour as their team lost at the Liberty Stadium for the fourth time this season.

Gerwyn Price Admits He Was Beaten By The Better Man . . . But The Story Continues

Gerwyn Price will be gunning for revenge when tries to topple Michael van Gerwen at the PDC World Championships next month after conceding the Dutchman was too good for him in their latest meeting. Wales’ world No.2 Price lost 11-9 as Van Gerwen clinched his fifth Players Championship Finals title in a dramatic finale at Butlin’s Minehead Resort on Sunday. Top seed Price defeated Van Gerwen for the first time in 20 attempts en route to retaining his Grand Slam crown last weekend, but the former Cross Keys and Neath rugby player was unable to repeat the feat on this occasion.

Michael Flynn Admits Newport Are Only Half As Good As They Need To Be

Newport boss Michael Flynn gave a brutally frank assessment that his side “looked at best a mid-table team,” following their 1-0 home defeat to Oldham Athletic. A first-half stoppage time goal for Oldham’s Zak Mills was all that separated the two sides, shifting Oldham up two places up into 20th. Newport drop down into 11th. But Saturday’s defeat makes it three successive League Two defeats in a row – the first time that has happened since December 2018.

Steve Cooper insists Swansea City have no home hang-ups, even though four of their last six matches at the Liberty Stadium have ended in defeat. The Swans manager watched his team lose 1-0 to Millwall – a result that continues their dreadful showings after breaks for the international game and dropped them to sixth in the Championship table. We’re In A Perfect Storm Admits Ospreys Boss After One Win In Eight

Ospreys head coach Allen Clarke admitted his injury-ravaged side were taught a lesson during their 44-3 hammering by Saracens at Allianz Park. The result leaves the region already needing a miracle if they are to qualify for the knockout stages of the Heineken Champions Cup following back-to-back defeats in the opening two rounds. The team that once dominated the Guinness Pro 14 and regularly reached the knockout stages in Europe have now won just once in eight matches so far this season.

Neil Harris: It’s Taken A Kick In The B******* To Get The Bluebirds Flying

Neil Harris believes it took a “kick in the proverbials” for Cardiff City to produce the kind of character he believes can earn success at the club. The new Bluebirds manager was delighted to see his side come from 2-0 down to rescue a point with a 2-2 draw at Charlton in his first match in charge. Former Millwall boss Harris made a quick return to south-east London after replacing Neil Warnock during the international break and might well have been questioning his choice as first half goals from Conor Gallagher and Jonathan Leko left Cardiff in trouble at the break.

Newport’s Tom King . . . From Rodney Parade To Murder List In Madrid

Tom King is worried he may have found his way onto the Madridistas’ hit list after standing next to Gareth Bale in Wales’ post-match celebrations after qualifying for the Euros this week. Bale’s team-mates huddled around the Real Madrid star after the game and draped a Welsh flag that carried the controversial slogan ‘Wales. Golf. Madrid.’ in front of him. That celebration created a storm back in the Spanish capital as tensions between the one-time world’s most expensive player and his club plummeted to an all-time low. Standing next to the four times Champions League winner was League Two goalkeeper, King.

Warren Gatland Fixed A Lot In Welsh Rugby . . . Despite A Tool Box That’s Not Fit For Purpose

Warren Gatland is back next week – for one night only – when he takes charge of the Barbarians against Wales. For Geraint Powell, Gatland’s final farewell should focus minds on what the New Zealander believes is still flawed within Welsh rugby. The Gats is gone. Long live the Gats! Well, not quite, for Warren Gatland will be coming to Cardiff a week tomorrow as coach of the Barbarians for the uncapped match against a Welsh side under his successor and fellow Kiwi Wayne Pivac, but you get the point.
